How does Lady Macbeth influence the events in Macbeth?

  1. Lady Macbeth effected the play in many way. After Macbeth met with the witches and the witches told him he was going to be the thane of Cawdor and he would also be the king, he was in disbelief. Macbeth was in disbelief about this but he also took into consideration that he could be. Lady Macbeth heard of this, and immediately began pressuring Macbeth to become the king.
Lady Macbeth pushes Macbeth to commit crimes numerous times. Macbeth first refuses to kill Duncan because he likesDuncan, and Duncan is the ruler. As Lady Macbeth pushed and pushed Macbeth, she insulted his manhood. As Macbeth was worn down by her nagging, Macbeth finally killed Duncan. As the play continues on, Lady Macbeth kills herself. To Macbeth, her death was his realizing moment that he was wrong in what he had done.

  2. Lady Macbeth played a key role in the outcome of this play. She heavily influenced the main character Macbeth, and she also had a way of influencing those around her. It could be argued that Lady Macbeth as the reason for Macbeth's descent into moral inferiority for she constantly emasculated him and "poured spirits into his ears." As soon as the news of the witches prophecy became known to her she tried everything within her power to pressure Macbeth into killing to become king, which ultimately resulted in failure. Her selfish ambitions inspired her to burden Macbeth with the thoughts of becoming king and without her in the picture, it is unclear to us whether Macbeth would have gone down this path or not.

  3. Lady Macbeth influences many actions in the play. She influenced the protagonist the most with her suggestion of killing Duncan. She is able to do so by questioning macbeth as a man. She equivocates him and makes him feel less than. Macbeth feels that he has to prove something to literally everyone,so he decides to do the deed. Lady Macbeth influences a lot of actions in the play with her language. The way she talks to people has a heavy impact on their actions. She did ask the witches for help with her language. They not only helped her, but allowed her to manipulate people as well. Lady Macbeth was really a huge influence on the men because she was able to question their manhood. In doing so, each of the men decided that they needed to prove themselves worthy.

  4. At the beginning of the play, Lady Macbeth controlled Macbeth, and every decision he made was influenced by Lady Macbeth. She persuaded her husband to kill King Duncan, who had been a great king, but she wanted power. Because of Macbeth killing Duncan, his best friend Banquo began questioning if Macbeth had killed the King. Macbeth was then forced to kill Banquo because of his suspicion. So in a sense, Lady Macbeth was responsible for those two killings, even though she didn't actually kill them. She uses her language to persuade Macbeth's actions, but as the play roles on, Macbeth begins to control Lady Macbeth, and they switch roles.
